What’s new on my design board

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

First, I finished and uploaded to my website, “Empower”. This was my final project from my Abstract Painting class. I liked this technique, of pouring paint, so much that I think I will do a series of them.
Today, I got a new design board as my last one was made of styrofoam and didn’t hold pins very well. Now I bought what I had before, pink insulation board. I cut it in half and cover one piece with grey felt for picture taking, and the other half for painting fabric on.
So here’s what’s on my board now. If you look in a previous post, I had a line drawing froma fractal design. This is the center of it. I’ve been putting in many hours doing hand applique. The background fabric is little bits and pieces of yearn underneath tulle. I’m working on the next outer part. More hand applique, hopefully I will finish in a few days.

Been busy

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile, but I’ve been busy quilting all of the tops that I have created. One is finished, “Brainstorming” and is posted on my web. I have two pinned, and another in the midst of creation.
Aside from quilting, I’m getting ready to ship a quilt, “Left Brain vs. Right Brian: A Self Portrait” to Las Vegas, New Mexico. I wish it was Las Vegas, Nevada since I haven’t been there in a while. I  always like to people watch and see what buildings are going up. I also have two to ship to Lancaster, PA. “Primary Cacophony” and “DigiLily” were accepted into Quilters Heritage Celebration. I’m still waiting to hear from Paducah.
