This is the view I have from my kitchen window when the tree is in bloom. Starting from a photo, I created this quilt painting the fabric for the blooms and branches. I wanted a more 3D effect so I added petals that weren’t quilted down. For the borders, I used ribbon and digital prints of the leaves and petals on fabric for extra interest.
