I get inspired by so many of the talented artists on the Quilt Art forum and visiting their website/blogs. This quilt was inspired by Beth Wheeler's quilts and her use of thread painting.

I scanned a magnolia blossom into Adobe Photo Elements, enhanced the color saturation, and printed on to fabric using the tile format. I then enhanced the colors further by using fabric paint and an airbrush, and finally thread painting with various colors of thread and free moion quilting. The border was machine embroidered with rayon thread.

The title, "Pour Pierre Magnol", is named after Pierre Magnol whom the Magnolia flower was named after.
