I always feel a burst of energy around a full moon especially in the spring. For me, it's a trime of new beginnings. In my quilt "Lunar Energy", I used slinky shimmering fabrics of polyester and rayon to create the blocks used in the night sky. Being loosely quilted and covered with glittery tulle, the ripples in the fabrics were enhanced and ultimately depicted the "energy" felt  from the moon. The moon was quilted with the idea of gears ready for shifting.

Machine pieced using polyesters and rayons. Machine quilted. Moon was quilted separately and machine appliqued.
