The title for "Contemplation" came about as I was working on the quilt. I had a photo of a tiger from the zoo and thought it would make a nice quilt. I airbrushed the tiger with fabric paint onto white fabric. The background originally was the fusible grid, which is now the border. As the background, the fusible grid became in competition with the tiger for attention. So I had to design a background that would integrate the tiger and the border. That's where the "contemplation" came. So I used the same technique, airbrushing onto commercial fabric in soft cell type shapes, and used various colors of thread in freemotion quilting to resemble rocks.
